Monica Goes to Rehab

(2 or 3 piece cabaret)

"With an unusual theme, songs from a great group of artists and Monica's own hilarious interpretation of the music, this show is a winner! The rating is MA15+ (i.e. 'drug references & frequent coarse language') not at all the 'PG Monica' most people are used to!!!"

In an all new show, Monica Trapaga sings the songs of her heroines in a riotous tribute to the legends of rehab... only Monica could make Rehab seem this funny.

"Truly hilarious! Even if you know nothing about the artists Monica and her extraordinary accompanist Elliott salute during this lively and slightly naughty show, you will clap, laugh and be educated on the greats of song and of course 'Rehab'. We will definitely be contacting these guys again for our future events."

The show is an extremely funny take on the legends of song who, through one addiction or another, have made "Rehab" cool. Performed in "intimate" mode, joined by accomplished composer and musical director Elliott Wilshier on piano and vocals, Monica performs tunes from the 1940's right through to now - the common thread being a visit (or more) to Rehab by all of the featured artists!

After singing her way through the decades, and 15 or so hilarious costume changes later, Monica ends with the very fitting Amy Winehouse's "Rehab". The more recent numbers give the show a current flavour but still retain Monica's trademark "jazz" essence.

Monica performs songs from artists including Billy Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland, Ray Charles, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse and more.

"Fresh out of the bottle, Monica pops songs and sniffs the hits of the shooting stars of yesteryear to now... an hilarious night of sentimental valium"
